Comunicare 1 is a teaching aid in Italian for adult beginners or for beginners in upper secondary school. The book is of level 1 and students who finish the course will have acquired the knowledge of level A1 and A2 on the scale from the Council of Europe (CEFR). On this level, the student is capable of making regular conversation, read simple texts and write short messages.
Comunicare 1 consists of a book with an audio recording and a website. The book contains eight chapters, each of which deals with different areas of the language, for example greetings and politeness, introductions, order and payment, buy tickets and handle bookings. All the chapters have exercises on the same theme. A short grammar in the end of the book explains and gives further information on the grammar briefly explained in the chapters. Exercises complete the learning; the key to the exercises is included. Comunicare 1 has three different dictionaries; one contains the words from the chapters’ page by page, another is Italian-Swedish, and a third one Swedish-Italian. The books’ many pictures and illustrations are combined with the exercises and dialogues and ease the learning.
Customers buying Comunicare 1 will have access to a website offering further learning and repetition. The website is a digital tutorial and has both interactive exercises as well as exercises in listening comprehension. Except for exercises the website also contains instructions and tips on how to use Comunicare 1.
Comunicare 1 will be published in the beginning of 2011. Part 1 will be followed by a second part, Comunicare 2, for level 2 or A2 on CEFR. Publication is estimated before the beginning of the fall semester of 2011.
